About Children's Hospital Foundation (formerly Children’s Medical Research Institute)

Children’s Hospital Foundation is the only non-profit organisation in Oklahoma whose sole focus is the advancement of paediatric research and education while supporting specialised clinical care for Oklahoma’s children. Since its inception in 1983, Children’s Hospital Foundation has raised and leveraged matching funds to create over $80 million to fund paediatric research, quality specialised clinical care and education programs including collaborative projects with the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine and The Children’s Hospital at OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City.


Their current research and education focus areas include:


• Infectious disease

• Cancer and blood disorders

• Cystic fibrosis and lung disease

• Genetic disorders

• Diabetes and endocrinology

• Developmental and behavioural paediatrics

• Clinical child psychology

• Trauma and paediatric surgery

• Kidney disease

• Gastroenterology

• Paediatric training

• Ethics in paediatric medicine

• Care for critically-ill newborns and preemies


Funding for their programmes is made possible through the efforts of a dedicated volunteer board, thousands of community volunteers and donors. Through endowments and direct support, they are able to recruit and retain nationally and internationally recognised paediatric physician-scientists to direct research as well as treat patients and train medical students. All funds raised in Oklahoma stay in Oklahoma to improve the lives of our kids here at home.
